Memorial Site

You are standing in front of a special memorial site. A site that was funded in honour of each and every fallen soldier in the battles of Israel, from the beginnig of the Zionist struggle in the country, through the establishment of the State of Israel to this very day. This site was established as a memorial for each and every fighter who fell in Israel and abroad - and to the memory of all as one. When you arrive at the Izkor memorial site, you enter a place that has the essence of the military cemetery, as well as the historical museum and the hall of value. To visit this site means to walk in the stone roads of the military cemetery, which lead the way to the tomb of one soldier- and all the tombstones are similar to each other, each with its own human story, and from all a sadness arises. In this site, like in the military cemetery, the echo of the soldier's life and death is constantly heard. As there is no moment without the tears of the grieving, which are the tears of wounded love, the tears of the painful longing and the sadness. To visit this site means to walk the long halls of our historical museum, which lead from one chapter in the history of the country to the mext. and all of the chapters are touching, because we see them here through the film of melancholy for the fallen, and all of these chapters speak to us through the life stories of the fallen in words that also have some of the sense of accomplishment and pride of independance. To visit this site also means to walk through the walls of the hall of value of the fallen soldiers for all their generations, in which marvelous deeds and good measures are dicovered In this hall, with its tales of life and death, the bravery is exemplified, which is the will to stick to the invaluable task, to the death. Here the full responsibility and the ongoing comradery are shown, the professional wisdom and excellent modeling. This site belongs to all grieving families. Each family finds here the image of their loved one, they participate in perpetuating the beloved character, in detail and sensitivity, to the entire nation, for recognition and appreciation. On the Izkor site, the State of Israel respects the memory of each of the fallen and cherishes for eternity the story of his life. The site's visitors are asked not only to respect it - as is customary in the military cemetery, And not only to examine it - as is customary in a historical museum, but also to learn from it, as is appropriate in this hall of values Each visitor to the site will take at least one memory, the living memory of one fallen person, his name, his picture, and the main points of his life and death. Every such memory is another link in the true chain of commemoration, the one to which we are all committed.
